PANAJI: Sirvodem Sports Club maintained their unbeaten run in the GFA-Vedanta Women’s League following their nervy 1-0 win over Goa United Sports Academy at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Wednesday morning.

Vinoshka Fernandes scored the lone goal of the game in the 59th minute.

It was a much-improved performance from Goa United, who were earlier beaten by Sirvodem 9-1 in the first leg, as the team from North Goa matched their opponents. However, the credit goes to Rhea Noronha who was in thick of the action throughout the game for Goa United who denied Sirvodem strikers from scoring. But she couldn’t stop them for long. At the hour-mark, skipper Nevilla Colaco got into the area and squared to Vinoshka Fernandes, who scored past the rival keeper.

Sirvodem SC’s Nevilla Colaco was named Player of the Match and Melroy Moura of Sesa FA presented the award in the presence of GFA vice-president (North), Lavinio Rebello.

Meanwhile at Rosary ground, FC Goa eased past Futebol Club YFA for a 3-0 win. Vailanka D’Souza scored a fine brace for FC Goa while Marisa Rodrigues scored an own goal in the 30th minute. The winners led 1-0 at the break.
