Goa Institute of Management (GIM) is proud to announce that senior faculty member Professor P. Balasubramanyam, Programme Chair and Associate Professor, was recently honoured with the prestigious PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Faculty Teaching Award in the Operations & Analytics discipline at the PRME Global Forum, a United Nations-supported initiative.
In a win for India and Goa, Prof P. Balasubramanyam is the only Indian faculty member this year to win this globally recognised award that seeks to honour the innovative and impactful pedagogical contributions that advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and align with the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
“It is an incredible honour to receive the 2024 PRME Faculty Teaching Award. This achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of my colleagues, students and the entire GIM community. Together, we are committed to advancing responsible management education and making a positive impact on society,” said Prof P. Balasubramanyam, expressing his gratitude for the recognition.
Prof P. Balasubramanyam has over 20 years of experience in the IT and manufacturing domains and has completed four years in the academic space. He successfully led several projects through the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. His primary research focus is on the area of applying AI in daily life for humanity’s betterment.

The PRME Pedagogical Awards are bestowed based on the recipients’ innovation in building on creative and interactive pedagogies, advancing the SDGs, promoting student skill development, and relevancy across contexts to promote global learning.
