Goa secured two gold medals, two silver and two bronze medals at the 49th Senior National Yoga Championship in Kerala. That apart, the team deputed by Goa Yoga Association, also notched up one fifth-place and three sixth-place finishes in the closely-contested prestigious competition organised by Yoga Federation of India.
Ashwini Churi, Trisa Manna, Megha Samuel Maddi; Divij Bait, Sourabh Gorai and Ashish Pal were the medallists.
Coached by Damodar Govenkar under the guidance of Navin Acharya, former Assistant Director of Sports & YA, the Goa Team stamped their class on the championship and also proved that their consistent medal-winning displays at the national-level in the past, boosted their confidence to deliver the goods this time as well.
Sports Minister Govind Gaude in his congratulatory gesture, hailed the tireless efforts put in by Team Goa including the Association members.
