Goa Co-operative Bank Ltd has evolved in its role as a critical player in Goa’s economic development, stated Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant.
On the occasion of 60th Anniversary of Goa Co-operative Bank Ltd, the Chief Minister also felicitated the ex-Board Members, in the presence of Co-operation Minister, Subhash Shirodkar; Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Arvind Bugde; Chairman of the Bank, Ulhas Phal Desai, and others.
Dr Sawant highlighted the important role being played by the bank, saying: “The Goa Co-op Bank Ltd. has not only grown in size but has also evolved in its role as a critical player in Goa’s economic development. The bank has grown despite seeing a challenging time for a while, and regrouped to this position with better coordination between the Government and the institution and shall grow further.”
The Chief Minister also underlined the boost given by the Union Cooperation Ministry, which is bringing transformation in the sector with proposed Co-operation policy, digitization of co-operative institutions.
