Goa will get it’s first adventure campsites at Surla as part of the Memorandum of Understanding between Goa Forest Department and Goa Forest Development Corporation Ltd.
The MoU governs the development and upkeep of facilities and activities within forest and protected areas across Goa. The collaboration will see the establishment of adventure campsites amidst the stunning landscapes of the Surla plateau, adhering closely to the guidelines outlined by the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
Prioritizing sustainability, the entire camping complex will be constructed as a green building, boasting features such as solar lighting, solar fencing, and advanced waste management systems including compost pits and water recharge pits, among other eco-friendly amenities. Moreover, dedicated personnel will be stationed to educate the public on the importance of conserving and protecting Goa’s diverse natural resources, disclosed Minister for Forest, Vishwajit Rane.
