GOA GET OFF TO WINNING START AT 73RD SENIOR NATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Goa’s campaign at the 73rd Senior National Basketball Championship got off to a stellar start today in Ludhiana, with the men’s team steamrolling their way to a 108-37 victory over Andaman and Nicobar.

In a complete team effort where five players scored in double figures, the top-scorers for Goa were Salman with 20 points, Tanish Lotlicar with 18, Jordan Dias with 14, and Aryan Raut with 12 points.

The 73rd National Basketball Championships are being jointly-organised by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), and the Punjab Basketball Association.

Prior to their departure, Goa men and women’s teams underwent a rigourous 2-week training camp at Don Bosco courts-Fatorda, and Youth Hostel courts Panaji.

The men’s team is coached by Venkatesh Sai and Olencio Dias, while the women’s team is being coached by Andriel Fernandes and managed by Sonali Raut, informed a press release.
