HQ 2 Signal Training Centre, Goa organized Veterans Outreach Programme to honour the soldiers, who have protected the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the country; at Bambolim Army Camp. The programme is organised every year to express gratitude towards the veterans who have displayed indomitable courage and dedication in their service and to show solidarity with the War Veterans and Veer Naris and to reassure them with inclusiveness by sharing with them a sense of belongingness.
Over 200 Veterans and three Veer Naris were present during the event in which, various welfare schemes and benefits were presented to the veterans.
While addressing the gathering, Brigadier A S Sawhney, Commandant, HQ 2 STC Goa, who was the Chief Guest, paid homage to all the soldiers who had fought and made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. He also expressed gratitude and thanked all the Veterans and Veer Naris present at the event for their glorious sacrifice. Brigadier Sawhney also appreciated the efforts of the government of India to reach out to all Veterans through various government schemes. He also explained new schemes and improvements in the existing ones announced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Stalls of various related stalls such as that of ECHS, Records Office, Banks, Zila Sainik Board, MH, and Dental were put up at the event for the Veterans to report their grievances and concerns and to get speedy remedies.
