Government of Goa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bharti Institute of Public Policy (BIPP), Indian School of Business (ISB) to commence a knowledge partnership with a focus on evidence-based policy formulation and impact in the state.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant; by Director, Directorate of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation, Government of Goa – Vijay B Saxena, and Executive Director, Bharti Institute of Public Policy, ISB, Prof. Ashwini Chhatre.
The MoU signing was also attended by Ajit Roy, IAS Secretary, to the Chief Minister, with Power, New & Renewable Energy, Mines & Geology portfolios; and Policy Director, Bharti Institute, ISB Dr. Aarushi Jain.
Under the knowledge partnership, BIPP will be playing the following roles.
• To collaborate with the Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development to conduct workshops for officials of state services
• To develop the Goa Open Data Portal in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Goa
• To co-ordinate activities across departments and agencies in the state to tap into the bioenergy reserves of the state and empower forest-based communities with secure tenure
• To strengthen and enhance the capacity of the Legislative Assembly of Goa, through a Legislative Support Programme. As part of the Programme, a Legislative Research Fellowship will also be initiated
• To extend its support and resources to improve the quality of education in partnership with Department of Education, Higher Education and Technical Education, Government of Goa.
