Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant emphasised on equipping Goa Police department with comprehensive logistical infrastructure in upcoming financial year.
The Chief Minister flagged off Activa scooters for Goa Traffic Police and vehicles for BDDS and Dog Unit at Althino-Panaji today, in the presence of DGP of Goa Police, Alok Kumar, IPS, Additional DGP, Omvir Singh Bishnoi, IPS and other Goa Police officials.
Explosive-sniffer Belgian Malinois canines have also been inducted into the dog squad for Goa Police.
“The Government of Goa remains committed to strengthening the state’s police and security agencies by providing modern infrastructure and equipment. I am confident that these new additions will enhance the capabilities of the Goa Police in carrying out their duties and serving the state effectively,” stated Dr Sawant.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that the Police should also play a role in helping keep Goa clean and green.
