The Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI recently conducted several events at various colleges in the state, with over a thousand students reached out to through this initiative.
Over the past month, Goa ICAI staged more than 10 events in various colleges across Goa. The programme line-up included Financial Literacy, Career Counselling and Investor Awareness topics; and were conducted at DMC College, S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Government College of Commerce and Economics, Cuncolim Educational Society’s College of Arts & Commerce, Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, and Fr Agnel College Pilar.
“Our core agenda has always been to serve our Chartered Accountant members and Chartered Accountancy students. However, we decided to go one step ahead and use our resources for betterment of college students at large” said chairperson of Goa ICAI, CA Gaurav Kenkre.
Chairperson of Goa WICASA i.e. the students wing body, CA Milind Shirodkar said: “We have covered a wide variety of topics right from ESG Audit, Careers in commerce, Internal Audit, Budgeting, Inflation etc. We were thrilled to see the positive response of students in these activities.”
The Goa ICAI office-bearers via a press release, said that they will continue with this outreach program and are now looking to approach secondary and higher secondary schools as well to impart basic financial knowledge and career guidance.
