GOA MEDIA TECH EXPO 2023: UNVEILING THE FUTURE OF MEDIA & CINEMA TECH INNOVATION IN INDIA

The Department of Information Technology, Government of Goa, will host ‘Goa Media Tech Expo 2023’  from 21st to 26th November 2023;
in conjunction with the 54th International Film Festival of Goa (IFFI). The Expo aims to spotlight the convergence of technology and the vibrant media and cinema sector.

With over 400 DPIIT(Department for Promotion of industry & Internal Trade) registered startups, Goa has emerged as a thriving hub of entrepreneurial activity, recognised for its dynamic startup ecosystem and fostering ground-breaking ideas. Embracing its cultural heritage and hospitable spirit, Goa is now poised to leverage these core strengths through the infusion of technology in the media and cinema landscape.

“We are excited to announce the Goa Media Tech Expo 2023, a platform dedicated to showcasing the cutting-edge innovations and groundbreaking solutions in the media and cinema tech sector,” said Tourism, IT, E&C and Printing & Stationery Minister, Rohan Khaunte.

“This event will serve as a catalyst for startups, providing them with a unique opportunity to display their products and technology, fostering networking opportunities, and driving potential collaborations within the industry.”

Khaunte further said: “Goa is the place where tradition meets technology, which certainly makes this state the creative capital of India”.

The Expo will unfold at the Yog Setu Promenade in Campal-Panaji. Each participant will be provided with a dedicated stall equipped with the necessary amenities, allowing them to engage with industry professionals, investors, and stakeholders.

A highlight of the Expo includes the prestigious Goa Media Tech Startup Award 2023, where one standout startup will be honoured for  their exemplary contribution to the advancement of media and cinema technology. The selection process for this award will be conducted by a distinguished jury, considering factors such as product innovation, scalability potential, and overall industry impact.

Eligible startups were invited to submit their applications, demonstrating their DPIIT(  Department for Promotion of industry & Internal Trade) recognition, as well as their relevant certifications from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs or Registrar of Firms. The products and solutions offered by the startups were pertaining to various segments of the media and cinema tech sector, ranging from streaming services and content creation tools to virtual reality, gaming, and blockchain & NFTs( Non-Fungible token) among others.
