Goa Medical College, Bambolim, successfully defended their Inter-Collegiate Chess Championship, winning the 2024-25 edition organised by Goa University at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, University Campus, Taleigao on 23rd & 24th July.
P.E.S Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, claimed the runners-up title while Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, finished third.
Ayush Shirodkar from Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, was named the Best Player.
Ashwin Lavande, Deputy Registrar-Academic, Goa University, was the chief guest, and presented trophies to the winners in the presence of Sanket Gaude, Assistant Registrar, Admissions, Goa University, Arvind Mhamal, International Arbiter, Dattaram Pinge, FIDE Arbitrator; and Balachandra B. Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University.
