Goa Police will be deploying e-beat book app created by Goa Engineering College, to record all the beat information, thus taking policing mechanism to another level. Usually, the information regards to anti-social elements, sensitive areas, crowded places etc had to be recorded physically on the book.
As part of the MoU signed between GEC and the Goa Police in February this year, a “Createathon” was organised in May 2023 to digitise the existing Beat book used by the Beat officers of the Goa Police.
Principal Dr. Krupashankara M S, Head of IT Department, Dr. Nilesh Phaldessai and Professor Aisha Fernandes led the team of students who developed the E- Beat book Mobile application.
The prize and certificate distribution was held on 28th June 2023 at the Police Headquarters in Panaji.
