Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant graced the opening ceremony of 10th, 11th & 12th editions of Goa State Film Festival (GSFF) in Panaji on Thursday. The four-day festival will conclude on 17th August.
Entertainment Society of Goa Vice-Chairperson Delilah Lobo, CCP Mayor, Rohit Monserrate; Commissioner cum Secretary (I&P), Sarpreet Singh Gill, IAS; CEO of ESG, Asvin Chandru, IAS, Director of Information & Publicity Dipak Bandekar; were also present among others.
Dr Sawant highlighted the significance of the State Film Festival and support provided by the Government of Goa, for film-makers.
The main highlight of the opening ceremony was the presence of Mohammad Ali, actor, comedian and television presenter who has worked in more than 1200 films in Telugu and other languages.
The event also saw a performance by noted singer Jolly Mukherjee, Goa’s own Mukesh Ghatwal, and an act by Chala Hawa Yeu dya fame Sagar Karande and Ankur Wadhave.
The winners of the 48 hours Short film competition was announced by the Chief Minister.
•Best Film First prize – Ful ani Savli (Flower and Shade)
•Best Film Second prize – Before Sunrise
•Best Director- Glen Cardozo (Ful ani Savli)
•Best Cinematographer- Tejas V. Naik (Ful ani Savli)
•Best Editor- Yuri B. Carvalho (Ful ani Savli)
•Best Actor (Male) – Niraj Arrie (Lift)
•Best Actor (Female) – Rati Bhatikar (Ful ani Savli)
The awards will be presented during the closing ceremony day and the award-winning films will be screened on the same day at 11.15am at Maquinez Palace, Panaji.
Several leading cinema personalities from all over Goa were also present on the auspicious occasion.
A total of 19 Feature Films and 4 Non-Feature Films will be screened at the GSFF. A food court and handicraft stalls have been set up at INOX courtyard. For registration and more details, visit www.esg.co.in
