GOA STATE RURAL LIVELIHOOD MISSION: BANKING AT THE HEART OF EMPOWERING INITIATIVE

Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant  inaugurated two days State Level Bankers’ Conclave organised by Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission and supported by the State Level Banking Committee at Panaji.

The Chief Minister appealed to the banks to boost credit to SHGs, design women-centric financial products, and promote digital and enterprise literacy. “Let’s build a financially inclusive, self-reliant Goa,” he underscored.

With 3250 self help groups registered in the state, the GSRLM has been driving women-led development as 1120 SHGs have availed loan of over Rs 365 crore, admired Dr Sawant.

“Goa is moving towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa through SHGs, Village Organisations, and schemes like Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana, empowering 23,000+ women and rural citizens,” emphasised the Chief Minister.

Among other achievements of GSRLM, are Community Investment Funds to the tune of
Rs.2,484 Crore;  over Rs. 13 lakh monthly turnover from 170 Annapurna SHGs and SHG-run canteens across Goa numbering to 14.
