‘GOAL GOA’ FILM TO BE AIRED ON DD NATIONAL & BT SPORT

MORJIM: ‘Goal Goa’ – a feature film shot exclusively in Goa on the backdrop of Covid-19 vaccination drive at Candolim football ground, premiered for select audience last evening here on the world-famous North Goan beach.

The film, which features leading names connected to Indian football and Goan football circuit, focusses on the need to develop women’s football as well even as the key message from the project of ‘Going To School’ directed by Lisa Heydlauff is ‘take the shot, so we can all go back out to play football together’.

Shrinivas Dempo, Brahmanand Shankhwalkar, Savio Medeira, Francis D’Souza, Yolanda de Sousa, Denzil Franco, Maymol Rocky, Uvena Fernandes, talented youngster Scindia Saundatikar are among some of the top personalities featured in the film, which aims to encourage families in India and South Asian communities in the UK to get vaccinated and is supported by BT in India and BT Sport in UK.

Goal Goa, which also underlines the strong relationship of Goa with football through the popular slogan that ‘football Goenkaracha raktant asa’ (football runs in the blood of Goans); will be aired on DD National on October 31 reaching millions of families in India; and will be launched at the Leicester V Nottingham match in the UK on BT Sport on October 27.
