Goa Yoga Association’s state team bagged 2 gold medal, 5 silver medal and 6 bronze medals, along with a consolation prize (4th place) at the 8th Jaipur League Yogasana/Artistic/Rhythmic/Sports Championship recognised by the Yoga Federation of India. The event was held from 23rd to 25th August 2024 at SMS indoor Stadium, Jaipur.
Competing with the players of various states who had sent their teams from all over India, the following players of Goan team performed impressively:
1. Artistic Pair (8 to 18 years Girls) -Tusu Manna and Kathyayani Honawarkar – Gold medal
2.Artistic Solo (8 to 18 years Boys) – Divij Bait – Silver Medal
3. Artistic Solo (8 to 18 years Boys) – Om Damodar Govenkar – Bronze Medal
4. Rhythmic pair (8 to 18 years Boys) – Om Govenkar and Tejas Tandel – Silver Medal
5. Artistic Pair (8 to 18 years Boys) – Divij Bait and Yashwant Madar – Silver Medal
6. Artistic Free flow (8 to 18 years Boys & Girls) – Om Damodar Govenkar, Aaradhya Sunil Naik,
Tusu Manna, Kathyayani Honawarkar , Priyanka Gorai, Kirthi Itagi – Bronze Medal
7. Artistic Solo (8 to 18 years Girls) – Aaradhya Sunil Naik (Fourth Place).
Goan team was trained by coaches Damodar Govenkar and Ashwini Churi. Sports Minister Govind Gaude and others congratulated the players, who were received on their arrival at Dabolim Airport by Navin Acharya, former Assistant-Director Sports & Youth Affairs; Hema Keni, Secretary of Goa Yoga Association and other members.
