Goa’s Chanel Crizzle has once again earned selection to the India Senior Women’s Rugby Sevens team, representing the country at the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series – Round 1 being held in Suzhou, China, on August 29 and 30, 2026.
Chanel’s selection marks another significant milestone in her growing international rugby career and reflects her consistent progression at the national level.
Chanel’s journey with Indian rugby began in 2021, when she represented India at the Asia Rugby U-18 Girls Sevens Championship in Tashkent, winning a silver medal. She again represented India at the U-18 level in Nepal in 2022, also winning silver, before progressing to the India U-20 Women’s Sevens team later that year. She has since represented Goa at the National Games and Senior Nationals, and played at the international senior level, including the Asia Rugby Olympic Qualifiers in Osaka in 2023, CASA 7s in Tashkent earlier this year, and the Rugby Premier League for Mumbai Indians.
Goa Olympic Association has congratulated Chanel on her selection and lauded her for bringing recognition to Goa through her continued international representation.
