Professor & HOD of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, GMC – Dr. Muriel Cardoso revealed that Goa’s infertility rate is ‘alarmingly high at 22 percent’ compared to the global rate. As such, she thanked Health Minister Vishwajit Rane for the free IVF treatment opportunity to serve the people of Goa.
“I am glad to be part of this wonderful initiative led by our Health Minister Shri Vishwajit Rane. He started the initiative with tremendous zeal, organized CSR for it, visited the center for inspection, and ensured the process of enrolling patients for IVF and IUI take place in a seamless manner.
“We are immensely thankful to him for giving us this opportunity to serve the people of Goa.

The IVF treatment being provided is completely free of cost, and is available to all the residents of Goa without any discrimination of any kind. Moreover, we have some protocols and criteria which we will adhere to ensure absolute fairness in all the matters concerning the treatment.
“Goa has an alarmingly high rate of infertility which go up to 22% compared to a global rate of 17.5%. So, we will also be providing a holistic wellbeing therapy to support the childless couples on their journey towards joyous parenthood,” stated Dr Muriel Cardoso.
