PANAJI: Promoting ‘work from Goa’ & Goa as an IT event destination, and highlighting the need to invest in better infrastructure; are some of the key aspects of Goa Technology Association’s ‘Information Technology Roadmap’ presented to Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday.

GTA President Milind Anvekar, Founder-President Mangirish Salelkar and other officials handed over the one-page roadmap for 2022-23 to Dr Sawant.

The other important factors in the IT Roadmap include “innovation and export-led growth, support service-based companies and simplification of government processes.”

GTA thanked the Chief Minister for all the support to the association, maintaining continuity and delivering on all the commitments made to the association especially the IT Policy implementation.

GTA Managing Committee meeting with the CM, also requested for calling the HPC to clear the pending cases for policy benefits. The CM agreed to call an HPC as soon as possible and get all the cases cleared before the code of conduct. Dr Sawant was appreciative of the solution-driven approach from the association.

The CM was also apprised about the top 10 emerging technologies, skills and sector-wise opportunities and how GTA’s MoU with FutureSkills will help in skilling/reskilling our workforce.

“The government support will only help in strengthening the Industry-Government relationship and create an opportunity to render a parallel income for the state, create quality employment and pin our beautiful state on the world IT map as the best place to work. While I am happy that we are on our way to fulfil our dreams of having an excellent IT ecosystem in Goa, there is much more that needs to be done at a much faster pace to be able to contribute to our country’s vision of a $1 trillion digital economy in the next five years. We thank Dr. Pramod Sawant-led Goa Government for supporting IT industry in Goa. GTA continues to support action related to the betterment of IT in Goa,” remarked GTA President, Milind Anvekar.

GTA delegation also comprised Vice-President Sujeet Shetty, Secretary Rohan Warty and Treasurer Gajanan Kerkar.
