Hemophilia Federation (India) has announced its participation in the International Purple Fest Goa 2024, marking a revolutionary step in the advocacy for invisible disability rights. For the first time, organidations dedicated to Hemophilia, Thalassemia, and Sickle Cell Anaemia are coming together in the Purple Conclave – Conference on Hemophilia and Blood Disorders, on Thursday.
“This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to raising awareness and supporting individuals with bleeding disorders. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Goa for this remarkable opportunity to collaborate and make a difference,” says Premroop Alva, president HFI on the eve of the convention in Panaji.
The venue for the conference is hotel Varanda Do Mar, Tonca,Miramar,Panaji. Scheduled for inauguration at 10:00 AM, the Purple Conclave will witness the esteemed presence of Subhash Phal Dessai, Minister for Social Welfare, Goa, Digambar Kamat,former Chief Minister of Goa and MAL, Margao and Guruprasad Pawaskar,Goa State Commissionerfor Disability. Their support and participation highlights the significance of this event in addressing the challenges faced by those with invisible disabilities. Also present are long term partners of Hemophilia Federation (India), Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation (NNHF) represented by Sara Motka, Head of Programs and Natasha Honan, Senior Communications and Advocacy Manager, NNHF is visiting India for the specific reason of taking part at the Purple Fest and learning about the local scenario about blood disorders. NNHF is a non-profit based in Switzerland with specific focus on Hemophilia and now expanding to other blood disorders.
Working alongside the Commissioner of Goa, Guruprasad Pawaskar, has been an honour, amplifying our collective efforts to serve and uplift individuals affected by these conditions. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration that fosters greater inclusivity and support for the invisible disabilities within our society, said Alva.
