PANAJI: Indian Panorama non-feature film ‘Ganga Putra’ is a story of a ‘selfless man’ late Rajaram Tiwari.
Jai Prakash from Prayagraj-UP, in his first directorial venture, tells the story of supreme endeavour of Tiwari, who worked for over 70 years from an young age of 16 years through his pioneering ‘Khoya Paya Sibir’ till his death in 2016.
“Kumbh Mela is where people often get lost; and Rajaram Tiwari, was helping to reunite them with their families again. He never got any major recognition. I want my film to be a medium via which this unsung hero is recognised for his immense humanitarian work,” said director Jai Prakash, who has gone through utmost hardships in his personal life but steadfastly worked his way to deliver the documentary based on an unsung national hero.
“With an aim to engage the viewers to a sense of shared heritage, Ganga Putra appeals to the state government and national government to felicitate the indelible contribution of the Bhule Bhatke Walon ka Baba,” say the filmmakers.
