Goa Branch of Western India Regional Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and WICASA Goa, will participate in the nation-wide ‘Mega Career Counselling Drive’ undertaken by ICAI, New Delhi; on 8th September 2023, across schools and colleges in Goa for the benefit and career guidance of students, informed the Chairperson of ICAI-Goa Branch, CA Thomas Andrade.
CA Thomas emphasised that ICAI is the first organisation in entire Asia to set a record for counselling maximum number of students last year. This career counselling will help students understand the carrier options available and suitable for shaping students future, he stated.
Vice-Chairperson of Goa Branch, CA Milind Shirodkar revealed that the Institute has made drastic changes in the Chartered Accountancy Course and the new and revamped version of the curriculum has been launched on 01st July 2023, 75th Chartered Accountants Day with the first attempt under the new curriculum scheduled to be held in May 2024. Students aiming to have a career in Chartered Accountancy in future will benefit from this Career Counselling Programme, he added.
Chairperson of the student’s wing Goa (WICASA), CA Vishwanath Bhobe disclosed that this year the state branch will be conducting Career Counselling Programmes in secondary, higher secondary schools and colleges across Goa. “We will be approaching students from 8th Standard onwards during this career counselling programme. Goa Branch is aiming to reach out to more than 5000 students across the State of Goa on single day,” he asserted.
Treasurer of Goa Branch, CA Vaibhav Bale, informed that objective of this drive is to reach the nook and corner of the country and provide career guidance and increase awareness about the Institute and Chartered Accountancy course. He stated that this programme shall be conducted by trained career counsellors.
Immediate Past Chairperson, CA Gaurav Kenkre underlined the magnitude of the ICAI initiative of Mega Career Counselling on 8th September, on a single day to be held in schools, colleges across India. “The drive will be aiming to reach out to more than 5 lakh students across India,” he said.
Secretary of Goa Branch, CA Vinayak Dhumatkar appealed to the schools and colleges in the State of Goa to take maximum benefit of this mega career counselling programme to be held 8th September and to support this initiative of the Institute. He stressed that the Goa Branch is working tirelessly to make this programme a grand success.
