Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant chaired a meeting in relation to the upcoming celebration of International Day of Yoga 2026 on 21st June; in the presence of Sports Minister, Ramesh Tawadkar, Chief Secretary, Dr. V Candavelou, IAS and senior officials at Mantralaya, Porvorim.
The Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for IDY 2026 programmes to be organised across schools, educational institutions and public places in Goa under the theme “𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞.”
Representatives from the Department of AYUSH, Directorate of Sports, Yoga Associations, Patanjali, Art of Living, Tapobhumi, Brahma Kumaris, and various yoga institutions across Goa; were also present.
The Government of Goa is set to celebrate International Yoga Day on a grand scale, with yoga camps being organised at more than 1000 locations across the state. Schools, colleges, and government institutions will actively participate in this mass movement promoting health and wellness.
Dr Sawant has emphasised that all government servants, teachers and students will have to compulsorily attend the IDY 2026 event in their local vicinity as the day being a Sunday – their offices, schools and colleges will remain closed.
