Rajesh Dhargalkar of Siolim has successfully cultivated Japanese variety ‘Miyazaki Mango’, one of the world’s most premium and antioxidant-rich variety of mangoes; right here in Goa.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant congratulated Dhargalkar on this rare feat.
Originally known as Taiyo no Tamago or “Eggs of the Sun”, this rare Japanese variety is grown in hot climates and known to yield fruit in just three years with the price ranging into an exorbitant league.
“Such pioneering efforts are a great example of the potential of Goan soil and the vision of our farmers. Goa Government applauds and encourages more such agri-innovations that can redefine Goa’s horticultural and agricultural sector,” said the Chief Minister on his social media.
