MAHARASHTRA’S SNEHAL BAGS THREE TITLES AT 3RD NATIONAL RANKING PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT, GOA’S NOEL NORONHA CLINCHES SILVER MEDAL

The Tennis Courts at Fatorda-Margao were abuzz with excitement as the 3rd National Ranking Pickleball Tournament 2023 continued with remarkable matches on its second day. Organised by the Goa Pickleball Association in collaboration with the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) and supported by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Sports Authority of Goa, the event showcased incredible talent and fierce competition.

The highlight of the day was the outstanding performance of Snehal Patil from Maharashtra, who secured an impressive triple Gold. Snehal Patil’s exceptional skills and determination were on full display as she triumphed in the Women’s Doubles category alongside Vrushali Thakare. Snehal’s prowess continued in the 19 and Under girls singles, where the Asian Gold medalist clinched another Gold medal. Snehal then defeated Vrushali in the women’s singles final in a one-sided contest.

Stavya Bhasin won a Gold and a Silver in 14 and 19 and under age groups respectively. Aditi Singh, Divyanshu Kotaria and Sandip Tawade were the other notable winners of the day.

Adding to the host state’s pride, Goa’s Noel Noronha, , a former State Table Tennis champion showcased his exceptional talent and determination in the Men’s Singles 50+ category, winning the Silver medal. Noel’s remarkable performance thrilled the local crowd and demonstrated his exceptional all-round skills and abilities. Former Tennis star Isha Lakhani emerged Silver medal winner in Women’s Doubles.

Maharashtra dominated the events on the opening two days, as they secured the majority of Gold medals. Additionally, states such as Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Goa also displayed their prowess and emerged among the medal winners. The 3rd National Ranking Pickleball Tournament 2023 will conclude on Sunday, May 21, promising more thrilling matches and exceptional displays of talent. The tournament has been a true celebration of the sport, fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants from across the country.
