Michael Mare set up a title clash with Neil Punjani Bakshi in Under-11 boys singles while Avni Khyalia will battle it out with Pragya Audi in U11 Girls singles finals, at the State Major Ranking Badminton Tournament, being held at the multipurpose stadium in Navelim.
On Day two of the State Ranking Tournament organised by BPS Sports Club in collaboration with the Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, there were thrilling clashes between Goa’s top badminton players in the Mini (U11) and Sub Junior (U13, U15, and U17) age groups.
In the Sub Junior (U13) Boys singles, Sparsh Kolwalkar, Arnav Saraf, Linesh Virnodkar, and Ansh Chaurasia secured their spots in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, in the U13 Girls singles, Avni Khyalia, Aaryaa Metry, Palak Ramnathkar, and Anaya Kamat emerged as semi-finalists.
Moving on to the Boys U15 singles, Advait Balakrishnan, Ved Shetye, Sanand Nair, and Aarush Pawaskar have successfully advanced to the last four stage. Similarly, in the Girls U15 singles, Sufiya Shaikh, Crisanne D’Sa, Ritika Chelluri, and Shivanjali Thite have secured their places in the semi-finals.
In the U17 Boys section, Harsh Mane, Shaheen C K, Yousuf Shaikh, and Yash Desai have qualified for the semi-finals. Simultaneously, in the U17 Girls singles, Sakshi K, Twinkle Sullad, Ritika Chelluri, and Shreya Mehta have also progressed to the semi-final stage.
