Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant graced the “Mission Sarovar Punha Nirman: Reimagining Goa’s Lakes” brainstorming session organised by Department of Environment & Climate Change, Government of Goa in Panaji today.

Environment & Climate Change, Sachin Desai.
In his address, the Chief Minister urged the students to play an active role in looking after the waterbodies and creating awareness for their conservation as beauty of Goa lies in its natural bounty of wetlands, forests and not just beaches. He also hailed the college project of Waterbody Atlas of Goa that has helped the government keeping a close watch on the mapped waterbodies across the state.
Dr Kale praised the students for taking active part in the awareness activities like Quiz, essays competition, skits and asking apt questions to seek holistic knowledge. The Ex-Scientist of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) advised the youngsters to take up research as their interest levels grow after attending the enlightening panel discussions featuring scientists and IITians sharing their expertise in a day-long programme.
Dr. Levinson Martins urged the youth to ask questions and also emphasised that teachers need to play a role in conservation of waterbodies in their localities by participating in Gramsabha deliberations with respect to the waterbodies rejuvenation projects.
