Several key decisions were taken to further strengthen Goa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and promote financial inclusion for local businesses as the Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant chaired the 404th Board Meeting of EDC Limited at EDC House, Panaji.
The Chief Minister approved the financials of EDC Limited for Financial Year 2024–25, amounting to a revenue of Rs. 111.47 Crore with the profit being Rs. 81.27 Crore. The Gross NPA < 0.25% while the Net Worth is Rs. 840 Crore.
The new loan proposals sanctioned for Goan enterprises, took the total loan sanctions this year to approximately Rs 40 Cr.
One of the key highlights of the Board meeting, was the in-principle approval to the Mukhyamantri Swayam Rozgar Yojana. The Chief Minister approved a collaborative initiative with EDII to train faculty from government colleges and higher secondary schools in entrepreneurial education.
Dr Sawant also reviewed the commendable efforts of the Goa centre of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India in fostering a culture of entrepreneurship across the state.
The Chief Minister directed EDC Limited to design new loan schemes tailored for Goan businesses, and to simplify and enhance accessibility of existing financial schemes for entrepreneurs.
