NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GOA GOVT’S WASTE MANAGEMENT INFRA & INITIATIVES FROM DEC 6

The three-day National Conference on Goa Government’s state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities and initiatives in Solid and Sewage Waste Management, will commence at Goa State Pollution Control Board auditorium at Saligao on Wednesday (6th December).

The inaugural function will be graced by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Minister for Waste Management & Revenue, Atanasio Monserrate; Former Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy – Dr Anil Kakodkar; Dr Sharad Kale, Scientist, BARC and other eminent personalities.

Dr Sanjay Goel (IAS), Secretary, Science and Technology, Govt of Goa, will give the welcome address and spell out the objectives of the conference. Dr Kale will deliver the Keynote Address at the inaugural session.

The national conference is being hosted in compliance to the direction of the National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, Delhi; so that the other states particularly the North Eastern and Coastal States can learn from Goa’s experiences on the subject of Waste Management Challenges in larger public interest.

The technical sessions include deliberations/interactions, to be held at the conference, are as follows:
