‘NATIONAL SPORTS DAY’ SPECIAL: I AM MENTALLY READY, SAYS BHAVINA PATEL AFTER ENTERING PARALYMPICS TT FINAL

PANAJI: India’s Bhavina Patel will take on China’s Ying Zhou in the final of C4 category table tennis singles event at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics on Sunday at 7:15 AM (IST).

Bhavina, who has already created history by ensuring India’s first-ever TT medal at the Paralympics, got the better of China’s Zhang Miao 7-11, 11-7, 11-4, 9-11, 11-8 in the semi-finals today to set up a path-breaking finale, which coincides with India’s National Sports Day (August 29). 

After her thrilling win early on Saturday morning, the confident 34-year-old para-paddler from Gujarat, Bhavina said:”I have been able to focus and do well with the blessings of the countrymen. I have concentrated on giving my 100 per cent and I will do the same in the final. I am mentally ready.”
