The Government of India has initiated the ‘Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan’ (DAJGUA), which focusses on 25 interventions through convergence of 17 line ministries to ensure holistic development of India’s tribal communities. The Mission covers 26 States and 4 UTs.

The Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan is a transformative initiative that reaffirms India’s commitment to empowering its tribal communities. By addressing critical gaps and fostering socio-economic development, the programme lays the foundation for a sustainable and inclusive future, aligned with the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The initiative aims to address key gaps in tribal villages with a focus on:
● Safe housing and clean drinking water.
● Improved sanitation and healthcare facilities.
● Enhanced access to quality education and nutrition.
● Reliable electricity supply and promotion of renewable energy sources.
● Better road and telecom connectivity.
● Sustainable livelihoods through scheme convergence.

This effort aligns with the Viksit Bharat Vision 2047 and Social Goals of Social Welfare (SGoS), targeting inclusive growth and upliftment of tribal communities.

In this regard, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities will be conducted from 15 to 30 June, 2025. The citizens of the North Goa District are called upon to obtain the benefits of this Abhiyaan.
