PAARTH SALVI WINS OPEN RAPID RATING CHESS TOURNEY

Paarth Salvi won theLate Lt. Cdr Gopal Sukharam Sukthankar Memorial Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2023  organised by Mushtifund Parents Teacher Association, at Institute Menenzes Braganza Hall under the auspices of Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association and Goa Chess Association.

Paarth remained undefeated by scoring  8.5 points from 9 rounds. Mandar Lad finished second with the score of 8 points while Aayush Shirodkar scored 7.5 points and took the third position.

The 4th to 20th-place finishers are as follows: Aryan Raikar, Chaitanya Gaonkar, Mayuresh Desai, Yash Prabhu, Joshua Telles, Aaryavrat Naik Desai, Ayush Naik, Kanishk Sawant, Aarth Karapurkar, Aiden Grao, Shubh Borkar, Bredan Peroz, Anish Naik, Jennica Sequeira, Rachel Pereira, Rishikesh Parab, and Sameer.

The U7, U9, U11, U13,U15 boys and girls category prize winners are: Prayank Gaonkar, Sarthak Naik, Aarav Naik, Shaurya Prabhu Agrasani, Aarav Prabhu Gaonkar, Aryan Naik, Rajveer Patil, Saras Powar, Ethan Silveira, Hriday Morajkar, Dhruv Dessai, Mayank Kurtikar, Sahil Naik, Raghav Lad, Nawal Sawant, Trisha Patekar, Vania Dukle, Viyomi Parab, Skyla Rodrigues, Diya Naik, Shinel Rodrigues, Lyia Silveira, Diya Sawal, Jensina Sequeira, Shrivalli Gandhi, Shriya Patil, Vaishnavi Parab, Alana Andrade, Sayyed Mahdiya, Saima Gaonkar.

Youngest Player: Evan Telles. Veteran Player: Sanjay Kavlekar.

Mahesh Candolkar (President, Goa Chess Association) was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Sagar Agni (MPTA Chairman), Aparni Chari (Headmistress MPTA) , Nandan Sardesai (Chairperson MHSPTA),  Anisha Salgaonakr (Secretary MPTA), Beena Shankhwalkar (Head Mistres Mushtifund School), Arvind Mhamal (Chief Arbiter), Dattaram Pinge ( Dy Chief Arbiter), Vedashree Lawande, and other members of MPTA.
