PANAJI: Maratha Warriors cruised into the semi-finals of Panjim Gymkhana’s Bandodkar Trophy cricket tournament with an easy 9-wicket victory over Super Sports Club at PG ground, Campal, here today.
Maratha Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl. Their bowlers proved the decision right by skittling out the Super SC side for a meagre 98 runs in 23.5 overs. Abhishek Singh took five wickets and Abdul Salaam picked up four wickets to wreck the Super SC innings. Only three batsmen got into double digits for Super with Nikhil Chari scoring 36 runs, Akhil Patil made 29 and Narendra Sale 10 runs.
Maratha Warriors hardly broke a sweat as they raced to 99/1 in 13.3 overs. Dattesh Priolkar (56 not out) and Damodar Redkar (34 not out) guided their side home. Super’s Kastubh picked the only wicket to fall.
