PANAJI: Pilar Fathers- Sports for Youth Development, Sattari, will organise the first ‘Pioneer Hockey Camp’ at Government High School ground, Morlem-Sattari from today to 10th October. The sessions will be conducted from 3:30-5:30pm, says a press release.
The Pilar Fathers will be collaborating with Hockey Kheluia NGO, run by Peter Fernandes, who has worked for 3 years in Calcutta with the very successful Khelo Rugby project, which has produced 36 international players for the Indian Men’s and Women’s national rugby teams, further claims the press communique.
The camp will be conducted by the Hockey Heritage Group Goa using the services of three Hockey India certified trained coaches from Mapusa, mentored by retired SAI coach Alexander Remedious; as 30 children, both girls and boys in the age group of 10-13 years; will be learning to play Hockey for the first time, the statement added.
Local hockey club from Sattari, Stars of Sattari HC, will be assisting with the organisation aspects, of the camp. The camp has been given the stamp of approval by the governing body of hockey in Goa, Goans Hockey, concluded the press note.
