PROCTER & GAMBLE DONATE RS 5 CRORE TOWARDS VACCINATION OF CITIZENS IN GOA

PANAJI: Procter & Gamble announced that the company has contributed INR 5 Crore to the state authorities towards vaccination of citizens in Goa, according to a press communique.

In addition to this, the company also facilitated vaccination of its employees, their families and the co-located staff at its Goa manufacturing site.

This donation is in line with P&G’s pledge to contribute towards 10 lakh vaccines doses in the country. Under its #PGSurakshaIndia programme, P&G is also continuing to extend its support to the broader community in Goa through donation of products, in-house manufactured masks and sanitizers especially to aid frontline and essential workers who are tirelessly working to combat the spread of COVID-19. P&G have also donated oxygen concentrators to the local authorities in Goa.

Gaurav Chaturvedi, Plant Head – Goa, P&G India, said: “We recognise the urgent need to come together as one in our fight against the pandemic. We are proud to announce that we will contribute INR 5 crore to the state government towards vaccination of citizens in Goa. In the current situation and going forward, vaccines play a critical role in containing the spread of the virus. We strongly believe that partnering with government and local authorities, who are leading the inoculation initiatives for citizens will enable us to make a meaningful difference to the communities we operate in.”

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, through its #PGSurakshaIndia programme, P&G has stepped up to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of its employees, its consumers and the communities. In Goa, P&G has distributed more than 3 Lakh sanitary pads to women and adolescent girls in containment areas and underprivileged communities in partnership with government, donated masks and sanitizers for protection of frontline workers. P&G also partnered with industries to kickstart an initiative called ‘Suraksha Circles’ to lay down the highest standards of hygiene and safety at manufacturing.
