Art escape Experience, The Live Music Project (TLMP), Ideas Boutique will jointly organise a ‘Full Moon Evening Edition of Raga – Rasa 4.0: Thumri Music & Food Experience’ on 18th August at Silva Heritage, Benaulim, 5pm onwards.
The interactive performance and music experience followed by food experience, features Shivani Haldipur Kallianpur on vocals (Mumbai) & Dr. Uday Kulkarni on tabla (Goa); while a collaboration with FIERCE Kitchens, is set to provide the Thumri food experience featuring chef Ajanta Burman.
About the artistes:
Shivani Haldipur Kallianpur – ‘A’ graded artiste at All India Radio, recipient of scholarship from Ministry of Culture. Born in a music oriented family and Pt. Nityanand Haldipur, the renowned flautist being her uncle, Shivani’s talent was discovered by her paternal grandmother Late Nirmala Haldipur. In her formative years, she was trained by Pt. Dharmadhikari right from the tender age of five. After appearing for exams, she found able guidance under Shalmali Joshi of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana. Currently, she is being provided tutelage by one of the greatest exponents of Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana, Vidushi Ashwini Bhide Deshpande who impart her with nuances in Khayal as well as Thumri gayaki. She holds a B.Com degree from the Mumbai University and also a Diploma in Human Resource Management.
Dr. Uday Kulkarni – Appreciated in the field of percussion & music world as a unique Tabla player performing consistently all over the country. An ‘A’ Grade artiste of All India Radio & Doordarshan, had his advance training in Tabla under Pt. H. Somashekhar, Dr Rachayya Hiremath, Pt. Ravindra, Yavagal in the traditional Guru Shishya Parampara. Currently, Kulkarni is receiving training under world renowned Tabla maestro Pt. Anindo Chatterji.
Having specialised in the Delhi, Ajrada & Farukabad Gharana, Kulkarni has received training of Punjab, Banaras Gharanas & is constantly in the process of imbibing the flavours of the each Gharana. Thereby heading towards the evolution in the art.
