While the government might have forgotten his 50th Death anniversary in 2014 as claimed by heritage promoters/historians, who then took it upon themselves with support from CCP & GTDC; to bring back sanctity to the memorial of the second  Lt. Governor of Goa, Daman & Diu. Late Lt. Gov. Sachdev had died in office at 2am on December 8, 1964 at Raj Bhavan. He is the only Administrator at Raj Bhavan, to die in office.

Heritage promoter Sanjeev Sardesai was instrumental in organising the ceremony for public to pay respects to late Lt. Governor Mulk Raj Sachdev

Late Lt. Gov. Sachdev had the honour to swear in the first democratically elected Government of Goa, Daman & Diu, after liberation in 1961. His son lit his pyre, at Miramar, as it was his wish. He was survived by his wife and son.
