Sports Authority of Goa on Saturday, organised a function to present cash award to the outstanding sportspersons winning medals at the National & International Tournaments. The Goan Special Olympians from the Special Olympics World Championship in Berlin – 2023, were also awarded.
Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai and Sports Minister Govind Gaude attended the programme at the Institute Menezes Braganza hall in Panaji.
Among the awardees was Dr. Nhehern Acharya, the champion at the 26th World Artistic Yoga Championship held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has an astounding record of securing four gold medals in as many events at the prestigious Championship.
Throughout his illustrious ten-year competitive career, Dr. Nhehern has earned a remarkable tally of 28 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze medals at various National events and also at the international stage representing India.
Dr. Nhehern is now the founder of ‘Kairos Physiotherapy Clinic’ in Bengaluru.
