Goa Yachting Association sailors Katya Coelho, Dayne Coelho and Pearl Colvalcar put up medal-winning performance each at the YAI’s Sail India which was also the second round of Asian Games Selection Trials, held at Girgaum Chowpaty-Mumbai from 24th to 31st January.
Katya won the gold medal in the IQ Foil Women’s Class and with that has almost cemented her spot to represent India at the upcoming Asian Games in China.
Pearl Colvalcar, who recently clinched two back-to-back bronze medals at the Youth Nationals, upped her performance to win the silver medal in ILCA 4 girls category.
Dayne Coelho who missed the first Selection Trials in December 2022, clinched a silver medal. Pearl and Dayne both stand an outside chance of qualifying for the Asian Games and are expected to give it all their best in the third and final round of the trials to be held in February in Mumbai, states a press release.
