PANAJI: Panjim Gymkhana ‘A’ inflicted a 7-wicket victory over Pernem in Panjim Gymkhana’s Bandodkar Trophy (knock-out) cricket tournament at PG ground, Campal here today.
Panjim Gymkhana ‘A’ won the toss and elected to bowl. With a formidable bowling unit, it did not take them long to bowl out their rivals as Pernem were bundled out for just 85 runs in 23 overs.
Former Ranji Trophy duo of Sher Bahadur Yadav (4/19) and Saurabh Bandekar (3/16) got going to wreck their opponents, who had just Shubham Naik (24), Akhil Shetye (15) and Suraj Ghadi (14) into double digits. Mahesh Baigdgar and Somesh Prabhudesai took one wicket each.
Panjim Gymkhana ‘A’ raced to 87/3 in 13.4 overs with former Ranji Trophy batsman Suraj Dongre (33) being the top scorer. Tushar Narvekar (24 Not Out) and Ilyas Naroo (15) were the other run-getters.
Pernem’s Sakharam Narulkar (2/17) and Shubham Chari (1/7) were among the wickets.
