Organized by the Goa Chess Association in collaboration with the All India Chess Federation (AICF), the prestigious tournament offering a prize pool of ₹53 lakhs, has witnessed intense competition among top rated players from across the globe.
Close on the heels of the leaders are five players with 5 points each: GM S.P. Sethuraman (2560, TN), GM Sayantan Das (2434, WB), FM Nguyen Quoc Hy (2418, VIE), GM Alexei Fedorov (2409, BLR), and IM Sammed Jaykumar Shete (2379, MAH). Another group of 15 players, including the tournament’s top rated players GM Diptayan Ghosh (2569, RSPB), IM Aronyak Ghosh (2544, RSPB), GM Mitrabha Guha (2509, WB), GM Deepan Chakkravarthy J. (2413, ICF), and Goa’s IM Ritviz Parab (2371), IM Ameya Audi (2422), and IM Ethan Vaz (2412), are tied at 4.5 points. Among Goa’s players in contention, IM Ameya Audi secured a win over IM David Gochelashvili (2257, RUS), while IM Ritviz Parab defeated IM Mohsen Elgabry (2107, EGY).
