Bicholim MLA, Dr. Chandrakant Shetye inaugurated the “Continuing Medical Education on Snake Bite and Its Management”, programme organised by the Goa Board of Homeopathy in partnership with the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Directorate of Health Services – Goa at Panaji on Wednesday.
State Surveillance Officer IDSP DHS Goa, Dr Utkarsh Betodkar, Dy. Director NAM, Dr. Minal Joshi, Principal SKHMCH, Dr. Roshani Shirwaikar, Chairman Goa board of Homoeopathy, Dr Bipin Salkar, Registrar Goa board of Homoeopathy, Dr Rajendra Kanekar, Senior Homoeopath Margao, Dr Ashok Borkar & Medical officer SFWB DHS, Dr Prashant Suryawanshi graced the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Shetye advised the doctors to practice their profession from the “heart”. “Be available for your patient and make them yours for life. Upgrade your knowledge and be the best doctor in your specialisation and you will get patients from far and wide,” said the famous Opthalmologist with expertise in cataract operations.
Dr Utkarsh Betodkar urged the gathering of doctors to understand the snakes first and clear every doubt from this CME programme so that snake bite treatment can be provided without any confusion at the Primary Health Centre level.
