PANAJI: Stamina Sports Club scored a three-wicket victory over Manguirish Youth Club in Panjim Gymkhana’s Bandodkar Trophy (knock-out) cricket tournament at Campal here on Monday. Stamina won the toss and elected to field. They did a great job by bowling out Manguirish YC for 155 runs in 40 overs. Sarvesh Kunkalikar with 40 not out, was the top scorer for Manguirish YC. Balkrishna Kerkar (28), Rajendra Ghadi (18), Akshay Naik (15) and Aman Naik (15) also made valuable runs.
Ugam Naik was the chief wicket-taker for Stamina with an impressive return of 5-25. Nisarg, Nitin Kalekar, Saiprasad Naik and Jayesh Naik took one wicket each. In reply, Stamina’s Rohit Dhareshwar (51 runs) and Agildas Alam Batta (49) powered their side to victory as Stamina romped home 158/7 in 29.1 overs. Manguirish YC’s Aman Naik picked up two wickets.
