Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant hailed Goa’s quality of musical theatre (Sangeet natak), Bhajan and Tiatr as among the best in the country; while also emphasising the overall contribution of the State Award winners to boost Goa’s Happiness Index. He also acknowledged the award-winning youth as role models.
Addressing the gathering at the Goa State Cultural Awards, Yuva Srujan Puraskar, Best Cultural Institution, Best Goa State Library & Best Librarian Award 2024-25 function; the Chief Minister highlighted various initiatives of the government to support the development of artists and preserve the culture.
Art & Culture Minister Govind Gaude; Marathi film actor-director Mahesh Kothare also graced the occasion. The Chief Minister suggested to the acclaimed Marathi filmmaker a project where talented Goan artistes can get opportunities.
“These awards are a recognition and inspiration for individuals, institutions in the state. The Yuva Srujan Puraskar is an inspiration for youth to employ their creativity for the development of cultural activities in Goa. I congratulate and extend my best wishes to the awardees for a bright future,” stated Dr Sawant.
