Shaheen C.K., Sufiya Shaikh, Ritika Chelluri, Aswin Mannambalath, Nishant Shenai and Arjun Bhagat will be some of the top Goa shuttlers who will headline the action at the State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025, to be held on October 18 and 19, 2025, at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, Panaji. The event is being organised by Shuttlers Club and Morning Badminton Club, in aegis with the Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa.
This marks the third and final State Ranking Tournament of the 2025 season, serving as the official selection event to shortlist Goa’s contingent for the Yonex–Sunrise 87th Senior National Badminton Championships, scheduled from December 22 to 28, 2025, at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. With top seeds and young talents vying for state and national recognition, the Campal courts are set to witness a weekend of intense and high-quality badminton.
In the Men’s Singles, all eyes will be on the clash between top-seeded Nishant Shenai and talented junior Arjun Bhagat, who have each defeated the other once this season, making their rivalry one of the most exciting storylines of Goan badminton. Second seeds Soham Naik and Devansh Sakpal are expected to provide strong competition, while Advait Balakrishnan and former state champion Ayaan Shaikh remain dark horses capable of big upsets.
The Women’s Singles promises an equally competitive field led by top seed Janhavi Mahale, alongside the in-form Sufiya Shaikh, who shocked the field by winning the last tournament. With Shreya Mehta, Anjana Kumari, and Ritika Chelluri all in contention, the margins of victory are expected to be razor-thin.
Doubles action will add further excitement to the tournament. In Men’s Doubles, top seeds Arjun and Tejan Fallary face stiff opposition from Aryaman Saraf/Rudra Phadte and the fast-rising duo Aswin Mannambalath/Shaheen C.K., who will look to repeat their maiden senior title win from the previous ranking event. The experienced pair of Mayank Raj and Ayaan Shaikh, and the promising juniors Advait Balakrishnan and Soham Naik, will also look to make an impact.
In Women’s Doubles, the top-seeded combination of Ritika Chelluri and Riya Haldankar will face tough resistance from Shreya Mehta and Yasmin Sayed, who clinched the last title, while Janhavi Mahale/Minoshka Pereira and Shivanjali Thite/Sufiya Shaikh will also be strong contenders. The Mixed Doubles category will see the top-seeded pair Shaheen C.K. and Ritika Chelluri looking to extend their winning run, with Aryaman Saraf/Sufiya, Mayank/Yasmin, and Rudra Phadte/Shreya ready to challenge them in what promises to be a thrilling finale to the 2025 ranking season.
