TRIGOA, INDIAN NAVY & GOA SHIPYARD COLLABORATE FOR GOA LIBERATION DAY CYCLE RIDE

PANAJI: TriGoa Foundation in collaboration with Indian Navy and Goa
Shipyard Limited, organised a 60km cycle ride to commemorate
Goa Liberation Day on Saturday.


A total of 100 cyclists rode simultaneously from Azad Maidan-Panaji, Kranti Maidan-Ponda, Lohia Maidan-Margao and Tilak Maidan-Vasco to reach Indian Navy’s INS Gomantak in Vasco. The cyclists included children as well.


TriGoa founder, Rajesh Malhotra, expressed satisfaction after a successful multi-city joint-event. “The cyclists were escorted by Naval police from each city to the Goa Liberation Memorial at INS Gomantak, Vasco; where Rear Admiral Philipose Pynumootil, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Naval Area (FOGA) received the riders,” he said.


In a celebratory atmosphere with the Navy brass band in attendance, Bharat Bhushan Nagpal, Chairman and Managing Director of Goa Shipyard, and Rear Admiral Philipose Pynumootil presented the riders with a medal to
commemorate the ride.
