Anaya Shukla and Shaurya Dessai have reached the Girls U11 final at the YMCA All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, organised by YMCA Panjim in association with Goa Table Tennis Association, at Indoor Stadium, Campal. Anaya defeated Claire George 3-0 in the semifinal, while Shaurya edged past Vanlalhriatpuii 3-2 in a closely-fought encounter.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, Anaya beat Swara Gude 3-0, Claire defeated Tvisha Kotkar 3-1, Vanlalhriatpuii overcame Sanaz Shaikh 3-1, and Shaurya defeated Tasha Mascarenhas 3-1.
In the Girls U9 section, Claire George and Swara Gude have reached the final. Claire defeated Lara D’Souza 3-0 in the quarterfinals before overcoming Ronisha Sakahardande 3-2 in the semifinals.
Swara beat Hanishka Chonkar 3-0 in the quarters and followed it up with a convincing 3-0 win over Alessandra Fernandes in the semifinals.
In the other U9 quarterfinals, Ronisha advanced after Taisha Mehta conceded a walkover, while Alessandra edged Spruha Kamat 3-2.
