YUVA Panaji and the Institute of Maritime Studies (IMS), Bogda-Vasco, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on social responsibility, environmental conservation, community service, health awareness, youth leadership and skill development initiatives.
The MoU will provide opportunities for IMS students and faculty to actively participate in various community-oriented programmes conducted jointly with YUVA. The collaboration will include initiatives such as Nasha Mukti awareness, road safety, mental health, environmental conservation, Tree Plantation, Swachh Bharat activities, blood donation and health awareness programmes.
As part of the collaboration, YUVA had recently conducted a Nasha Mukti Abhiyaan awareness session for IMS students. A Vanamahotsav plantation drive involving the students is also planned in the coming weeks.
The MoU was signed in the presence of IMS Director Shivram Kamat, Vasudevan Pillai (Warden), Heston Dias (Lecturer) and Naresh Naik (MAA).
Representing YUVA were vice-president, Vaman Sankhalker, secretary Saichha Bandiwadekar, joint-treasurer Akhil Verlekar and executive member Tejal Keluskar.
This marks YUVA Panaji’s first MoU with a technical institute such as IMS, strengthening its efforts to bring youth and educational institutions together for community development and social action.
