As part of Yuva Sangam Phase VII under the Ministry of Education’s Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, Goa and Mizoram have been paired to promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding and national integration among the youth of the two states. The programme is being coordinated by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Goa.
A delegation of 57 members from Mizoram is scheduled to visit Goa for a week-long programme beginning October 10. The delegation includes five faculty members from the Central University of Mizoram, two representatives of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Lt Cdr Akhil Sharma and Shri Naresh Ch. Grover, and undergraduate students from the state.
During their stay at the NIT Goa campus, the visiting delegates will explore important heritage sites, experience Goan cuisine and traditions, and interact with representatives of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). They will also have an opportunity to meet the Governor of Goa as part of the programme.
Meanwhile, a team of 55 delegates from Goa, accompanied by five staff members from NIT Goa, will leave for Mizoram on October 10 for a week-long visit. The exchange will provide participants from both states with an opportunity to experience each other’s cultural heritage, traditions, lifestyles and developmental initiatives.
The programme is based on the five key themes of Prodyogiki (Technology), Parampara (Tradition), Pragati (Progress), Paryatan (Tourism) and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect).
Through visits to places of historical and cultural significance, interactions with local communities and experiential learning, the initiative seeks to deepen understanding and build lasting connections among young people.
Yuva Sangam Phase VII aims to provide participants with first-hand exposure to the distinct cultural identities of Goa and Mizoram while encouraging them to share their customs, traditions and experiences. The initiative seeks to strengthen the spirit of Unity in Diversity and contribute to the vision of a united, inclusive and progressive India under Viksit Bharat.
